Teej short introduction


Teej is one of the most popular festivals of Hindus that is celebrated by women of Nepal and India. It is celebrated by singing, dancing and eating Darr. Women wear colorful Saari especially Red because it signifies love. It mostly falls in July, August, September. Single women also do fasting to get a husband like Lord Shiva.

It is celebrated with joy. It is celebrated widely in Nepal and people exchange happiness with each other. On this day many programs are organized in different places of Nepal. People also organize a program to eat Darr which comprises of varieties of food along with the curd.

According to the foreign calendar, it falls on 21st August 2020. And according to the Hindu/Nepali calendar, it falls on Bhadra 5,2077. It falls on Friday.
