The Job of a Doctor |
In the generation of our grandparents, the doctors were not well trained. They used to depend on traditional tools and methods of treatment. The modern medical equipment and new methods of treatment had not been discovered. There were a limited number of hospitals and doctors. The shaman and mid-wives used to solve many medical problems. Because of the lack of well-trained doctors and medical facilities, the infant's and maternal mortality rates were far higher in those days. Those shortcomings started gradually disappearing in the generation of our parents.
In the time of our parents, more hospitals were established, more facilities were added and the number of medical practitioners increased. Even the villagers started using allopathic medicines. Methods of treatment became faster and easier. The efficiency of the doctors increased, and their job became more specified. They could use an advanced technology that diagnosed every case accurately and minutely. This made the doctor's profession easier, faster, and more efficient. The scope and nature of this profession and the efficiency of the doctor increased even more in our time.
Nowadays, health posts have been opened in every rural municipality, and well-facilitated hospitals, nursing homes, and medical colleges are being established in urban areas. The medical colleges and nursing homes are equipped with ultra-modern facilities. The diseases that were supposed to be incurable are being cured. With a wide variety of modern tools and equipment at their disposal, the doctors have become able to deal with many cases with the help of this latest medical equipments. Most part of a doctor's job has been taken by modern medical equipment. It has made the profession faster and has added more efficiency to doctors.
